We are looking for an Employment and Expatriate Tax Accountant to assist the Expatriate Tax Manager in the day-to-day activities supporting the expatriate tax compliance obligations arising from inbound and outbound assignees - including compensation data delivery to external advisors, preparing and reviewing tax support cost budgets, and being a point of contact for assignees, their line managers, and other stakeholders across the business. Additionally the post holder will support the UK Tax Manager on UK PAYE reporting and advisory issues.
This is a permanent position based in our UK Head Offices in Reading, Berkshire.
Responsibilities / Duties
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
В• Assist in the expatriate tax compliance process for expatriates from the UK and inbound employees to the UK.
В• Assist in ensuring compliance with overseas payroll tax legislation and related reporting requirements.
В• Assist in the implementation of the Personal Tax Support Costs Work Practice.
В• Assisting the UK Tax Manager in respect of UK employment tax compliance.
DUTIES:
В• Work with the Tax Coordinator to compile compensation data for UK and overseas tax returns, and the provision of this data to global tax advisors promptly and in a standard form.
В• Liaise directly with the UK and overseas offices of the external provider of tax compliance services for expatriates from the UK and ensure all company related data required for the tax compliance process is provided.
В• Assist in preparation of employee tax and social security cost forecasts and risk assessments for bids and proposals.
В• Provide technical support on all UK payroll taxes, P11D reporting, PAYE settlement agreement, Form 42 and related matters.
В• Assist in managing employee tax calculations for tax equalisation and protection packages for expatriates.
В• When requested, prepare monthly return for the Construction Industry Scheme.
В• Liaise with Tax co-ordinator in respect of tax equalisation/retention accounts including monthly reconciliation of movements and reconciling charges to projects for the tax differential.
В• Reviewing tax equalisation settlement calculations prepared by external tax advisors.
В• Supporting the Expatriate Tax Manager in the end-to-end management of the CompanyВ’s expatriate tax compliance obligations.
В• Assist in ad hoc tax matters when required.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE:
The successful individual will need the following experience:
В• Must have proven experience in expatriate tax compliance (including experience of UK Tax Return preparation) ideally gained in a Big 4 accounting firm.
В• An awareness of UK domestic PAYE obligations including PAYE Settlement Agreements, Forms P11D and Form 42.
В• Experience of successfully juggling multiple tasks and delivering within tight deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
В• Must be ATT qualified.
