This role is with one of Southampton's most well respected and successful Accountancy Practices.
It is a fantastic opportunity for someone with established experience in Employment Tax to work in a thriving department & take responsibility over a portfolio of clients & their day-to-day tax compliance affairs.
This role acts as a supervisor to the Tax team & liaises very closely with the relevant Managers, Directors & Partners to ensure efficient running of the department. You'll be involved with the provision of tax advisory/project work as required. You will be self-motivated, able to work to tight deadlines, have excellent interpersonal & supervisory skills together with an ability & interest in understanding the clients' business.
Responsibilities
Responsible for day to day tax compliance affairs of clients & involved with related advisory matters, whilst being supervised by senior staff & communicating effectively to the team
Review work produced by junior members of staff. Identify risk and technical matters, as well as selling opportunities, to the Partner/Manager, whilst exercising judgement
Understand & adhere to budgets, meet reporting timetables & prepare key client reporting documents
Ensure WIP is monitored & liaise with line managers on client billing.
Develop professional relationships with clients & within the firm
Provide a pro active service to clients & ensure that client needs are fully met
Requirements
Employment Tax experience
Competent on routine work without generating significant review points
Significant understanding of & previous experience within tax compliance
Tax advisory experience preferable but not essential
Supervisory experience
Excellent knowledge of Tax compliance products as well as Microsoft products
