An opportunity has arisen to join the tax department of this blue chip media company on an interim basis.
Reporting to the VAT Manager this is a mixed tax role with a strong initial focus on VAT (c50%). The role will involve tax compliance, reporting and advisory work primarily in the UK and Ireland.
This is a busy in-house tax department primarily dealing with UK and Irish tax issues. The current priorities are resolving outstanding legacy issues with HMRC; providing tax input to business changes and developments, dealing with UK and Irish tax audits, preparing for SAO and delivering efficiency savings from process improvements in tax compliance and reporting.
The Group's VAT compliance has very recently been centralised in a shared service centre environment in Scotland; the role will involve dealing with ad hoc technical queries, managing their compliance outputs and assisting with the preparation and delivery of training materials.
