A new position for a VAT Operations Leader has been created for a multi-brand global company to be based in it's Dublin office in Ireland. Multi billion dollar turnover business with coverage across Europe, US, Latin America and Canada this is truly a leading global organisation and will offer the successful individual a progressive and structured career path. As the VAT Operations Leader you will be responsible for the management and development of VAT compliance service across multiple business functions.
Job responsibilities
Manage the VAT process compliance:
- Ensuring compliance related to all Indirect tax activities
- Process improvement and standardisation of the VAT compliance process
- Standards and Guidelines to business management and users.
- Provide expert advice to internal customers
- Manage and optimise the VAT related Cash Flow
- Develop and agree service level agreement and key performance indicators with the stakeholders.
Manage the VAT operations team:
- Create action plans for the team based on yearly guidelines and VAT compliance, track progress on completion and deliver resolutions within agreed timelines.
- Continuous improvement of level and quality of employees
- Ensure resolution of open VAT audit issues
- Identify and deliver on opportunities to reduce VAT cash flow and outlays for the business.
- Manage various ongoing VAT related projects.
- Support European VAT audits in conjunction with the Corporate Tax Team. Increase the level of control/ VAT reconciliations and introduce self-audit initiatives.
- Establish and agree on annual cost budgets, monitor and implement.
Candidate profile:
- Experience in VAT operations within a multinational environment.
- Proven people management skills essential.
- Solid working knowledge of the EU VAT directive and VAT compliance.
- Solid IT system skills with knowledge of an ERP system (Oracle).
- Excellent communication skills and fluency (oral and written) in English are a must to be successful in the role. Additional languages will be an advantage.
